The hill

For over 45 years, Mount Como, the 100-foot hill in the middle of Como Park in St. Paul has been the site of a downhill ski and snowboard program. St. Paul Parks and Recreation maintains the hill with grooming and snow making.

Four rope tows, two on each side of the hill help skiers and boarders make it to the top. Trained staff offers lessons to help everyone get back to the bottom skillfully, safely and with a smile on their faces.

During the five to six weeks each winter that the program operates, the shop inside the chalet rents downhill skis and snowboards, and sells rope-tow tickets. There is also a food concession that serves hot drinks and snacks for hungry, rosy-cheeked snow sport enthusiasts.

By far the most affordable and conveniently located ski facility in the St. Paul city limits!

The Como Park Ski Center, 1431 North Lexington Parkway, opens to the public each year in late December – weather permitting and is often open through President’s Day weekend.
